Favorite current shows

What are your favorite current shows?

If it’s good and they’re still producing new episodes (or will be producing new episodes as far as you know, i.e. it’s not yet renewed but not cancelled AFAYK, e.g. Rick and Morty), I want to hear about it.

Any source is good: network, cable, Netflix/Hulu/Amazon/YourTube Red/other streaming services that produce original content that I don’t know about, etc.

Most of the DVR is either the wife’s shows, reruns or sports, but I am currently recording Agents of Shield, Supergirl and a quirky little show called LA to Vegas.

Archer and, yes, The Simpsons. I like the David Letterman interview show, too, but I’m lagging behind. I’ve officially bailed on The Walking Dead. :frowning:

Most of my favorites are on hiatus until next year.

The Good Place, It’s been renewed for next year, but you should be able to find Season 1 online (and Season 2 on the NBC site). Amazingly good, with some very sophisticated and funny ideas and deals with some surprisingly deep issues.

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. Manages also to be very funny and also deals with much more than just comedy (though more personal than the philosophy-based jokes in The Good Place

The Orville. First episode had all that things that makes Scott Macfarlane unwatchable, but it quickly settled down to be a Star Trek for the 21st century.

Black Lightning. The best of the superhero shows because it’s different from all the rest, with a middle aged hero, great villains, and a different vibe from anything else, concentrating on the issues of a superhero having a family.

Archer and Bob’s Burgers. The two best animated shows on TV.

+1 for Bob’s Burgers, it’s funny, creative and the characters are terrific.

+1 for The Good Place.

Better Call Saul is approaching the level of Breaking Bad.

Grace and Frankie proves that age is no obstacle to being funny. Also an incredible testimonial to plastic surgery.

ETA: I assume you mean scripted shows - otherwise Last Week Tonight with John Oliver is at the top of my list.

Scripted, unscripted, whatever. As long as it’s current and good, lemme have it!

+1 for Archer. I left it off because it doesn’t start again until 4/25.

Only shows I watch are

Good Place (caught up)
Game of Thrones (Caught up)
Westworld (not caught up)
South Park (I watched all the last few seasons and handfuls of the older eps)

Shows I enjoy grabbing random eps: Archer, Bobs Burgers.

I’m still looking for something to binge to replace 30 Rock and Park and Rec. It won’t be The Office. Probably not Kimmy Schmidt or Brooklyn

AP Bio

The Handmaid’s Tale season two starts on Wednesday. Better Call Saul will be back in the fall.

My favorite current shows are:

The Good Place
The Americans
Blackish
Fresh Off the Boat
Brooklyn 99
New Girl
Game of Thrones
Several of them only have a few episodes left though.

The Expanse, oh my brothers. On the Syfy channel, season 3 is airing now, seasons 1 and 2 are free on Amazon Prime.

I need to catch that as I have been reading Corey’s books and love them.

I am also watching a lot of Agents of SHIELD, Bourdain’s Parts Unknown, Eric Ripert’s Avec Eric amongst others.

Really must start watching Expanse though. It’s got to be at least decent even if its only quasi-faithful to the books.

Wife and I watch A LOT of TV :
