Favorite DVD Easter Eggs

In honor of the paschal season, I offer my top 5 Easter Eggs:

  1. The alternate cut of Terminator 2 with Linda Hamilton in old age makeup.

  2. The outtake with Spiderman joining the X-Men.

  3. The music-only track on Yellow Submarine.

4)The B/W opening credits on The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

  1. The Hare Krishna talking about his experience on Dawn of the Dead.

The complete print out-able script to the movie Beetlejuice.

Wait, no, that was just a dream I had. There is no script avalible, no matter how hard I look.

Gollum’s acceptance speech from the MTV Movie Awards, on The Two Towers DVD.

Whoa whoa. Where is this? I have all the X-Men and Spidernan movies on DVD.

Cast another vote for Spidey with the X-men.

Plus

**The Incredibles ** sock-puppet show

The two deleted scenes on Not Another Teen Movie. Not because there was anything that great about them, but they were the only easter eggs I discovered without outside help.

Tobey Maguire’s Audition reel on the Spider-Man DVD - can’t remember if it’s hidden or not, but it’s classic.

Spidey with the X-Men is excellent.

The LOTR DVDs all have great Easter Eggs.

Some guy working on Hannibal took the tape from the time the director said “Cut,” to the time the camera stopped rolling and stitched it all together. He’s in a band and laid some music they’d written over it to make a pretty cool music video. It’s pretty awesome.

I don’t have the DVD version, but apparently it’s on the original X-Men movie DVD.

Where’s this Gollum speech? Is it on the regular DVD or the Extended Edition DVD?

On the TTT:Extended Edition. Here’s how to find the egg.

On the Return of the King EE there’s a great easter egg where Dominic Monaghan poses as a German journalist and does a phone interview with an unsuspecting Elijah Wood that’s pretty funny.

On Mallrats there is an easter egg that has Kevin Smith & another guy castigating you for wasting your life searching for easter eggs.

A friend of mine was the first to discover the one on Cast Away. It’s a snippet of audio from a Q&A session with the director. Someone in the audience asked him what was in the box Tom Hanks saved on the island all those years, and he answered, “A solar-powered waterproof satellite phone.” (paraphrase)

I liked the commercial for the AquaScum 3000 on the Finding Nemo DVD. It kinda made me want one, despite not owning a fishtank.

What? Where???
