Favorite ESPN Daily Sports Talk Show?

So which of ESPN’s daily talk shows do you like best? I’m trying to limit this to those daily general sports opinion shows. In other words I want to exclude weekly shows like The Sports Reporters and E:60, sports specific shows like NFL Live, Baseball Tonight etc. and hard news like Outside The Lines. Also I’d like to set aside SportsCenter as it’s something of a chimera.

1st and ten.

I don’t really care for too many of ESPN’s shows, but I highly recommend their podcasts. I listen to Football Today, College Football, NBA Today, Barry Melrose (NHL), Baseball Today, Fantasy Football, Fantasy Baseball as well as some of their other ones.

Yeah, I’m a Podcast junkie too. I hardly listen to music any more and the ESPN and ESPN Radio ones get the most play by far. I have the PTI Podcast loaded up as well the Video Podcast of the Big Finish. I used to DVR ATH and PTI but I found myself being bored with the repetitiveness of it and it over-filled my DVR when I didn;t keep up.

I still will watch most of the shows during the day when I’m stuck at home with nothing else to do since the vast majority of daytime TV sucks balls.

I only watch Sportscenter and the Blitz when Chris Berman is talking.

Should I start a poll about whether this was the worst poll ever?

I am actually really enjoying SportsNation. Before that, I would have said PTI or Rome.

I came in here, specifically for Around The Horn. I don’t watch it that often, very rarely in fact, but I love the concept.
Now, if the 24 hour news networks could just adopt the same format durring a point / counter point topic in politics we might have something.

I used to love ATH, better than PTI for a stretch there, but things have kinda gotten bogged down in tomfoolery in the last couple years. Woody and Mariotti seem to be more interested in cultivating a persona than talking about sports intelligently.

ATH is my favorite. I’ve watch it from the beginning.

I also like PTI, but they cover almost the same main topics. It is usually the “Five Good Minutes” segment where I would turn the channel anyways. In a perfect world Tony Kornheiser would host both shows.

PTI, easily. I like ATH, but find tony Reali annoying. I watch SportsNation, but much prefer Colin Cowherd on the radio. I was pissed when His show replaced Kornheiser’s, but it’s grown on me a lot.

I’m very, very happy that Jim Rome has no votes. I despise him way more than anyone should despise a TV host.

Joe

First person to vote for Jim Rome Is Burning gets insta-banned, right?

Oh, not even close. Search for threads started by Curtis Lemay for some real poll-tarding.

Jim Rome is quite possibly the worst television personality on air.

Okay clones. Wasn’t it amazing when Bonds hit all those bombs? Yeah, it was sweet. Unfortunately, he was on the juice. That’s inexcusable. Being on the juice.

(15 second pause)

Bonds hit those bombs on the juice. He was all jacked up like some Venice Beach musclehead. All those bombs. Let’s go to a call.

Bonds used to be a 5-tool player, but then sold his soul to the devil to hit home runs. I’m out.

Great point. He didn’t always look like some musclehead.

(15 second pause)

What a great point by that caller. He hit the nail right on the head.

(15 second pause)

Yeah. All those home runs. The caller was right on.

Does his show actually end or have any structure? I almost like it because it’s pretty close to a trainwreck at any given time.

I came in here to vote for Around the Horn. Woody Page is entertaining and the whole group has some good insights. I find the PTI hosts annoying but they do some pretty good analysis.

I’m curious what the “Other” votes are. I thought I had covered all the options and just put the last option as a bit of insurance. I’m curious what I missed.

Dameshek on Demand is a daily podcast worth a listen too.

At least one of them is for Mike and Mike in the Morning. PTI would be second for me.
