Favorite live albums

This is one of the best live albums of all time, but “Live At Reading” recorded in 1992 in their heydays is almost as good and shows their electric set as furiously as you can imagine.

Aside from the aforementioned Get Yer Ya-Yas Out
Roy Buchanan – Live Stock

Cream - Live Cream vol. 2

Mahavishnu Orchestra –* Between Nothingness and Eternity*

Otis Rush – So Many Roads: Live in Japan

Ten Years After - Recorded Live

Led Zeppelin - The Song Remains the Same (soundtrack)
“ - 1970 Royal Albert Hall Concert

Robin Trower – Live

Johnny Winter –* Live Johnny Winter And*

This.

Excellent!

Fantastic!

I’m going to allow it.

Brilliant!

And I’ll add

Fleetwood Mac - Tha Dance

Iron Maiden - Live After Death

Humble Pie - Rockin’ the Filmore

One of the best hard rock live records from the 1970s. Steve Marriott was fantastic.

The Band – Rock of Ages

King Crimson – EleKtriK

Hugh Masekela – Hope

Yeah! And Thin Lizzy* Live and Dangerous*

The Concert in Central Park
Simon & Garfunkel

Hey! Don’t you think that should be the O.P.'s decision?

Actually, I own a copy of “Stop Making Sense” but forgot… so I’ll allow it. :stuck_out_tongue:

#$@&! board timeouts. Ugh. On re-read I thought the “I’ll allow it” was in reference to Get Yer Ya-Yas Out. Then after editing realized I was right the first time. But because of the timeouts the edit window closed before I could edit my edit. Yeesh.

Jethro Tull - Bursting Out
BB King - Live at the Cook County Jail
Warren Zevon - Stand in the Fire

Wilco. -. Kicking television

“Live At The Regal” is also excellent.

Rush - ‘‘Exit…Stage Left"; from the "Moving Pictures’’ and “Permanent Waves” tours, Rush @ their peak hella musicianships.

Well, pretty much all of mine have been called out already.

Particularly Kinks, Talking Heads, Who (extended version), Band (ditto), Little Feat. But especially Dylan live with the Band at Albert Hall. A cultural touchstone as well as a great performance.

“…Play fucking LOUD.”

And as far as the Dead go, I’ve owned bootlegs of the September 3, 1977 show at Englishtown, New Jersey, since 1979. On VINYL, cassette, and CD. Special mention to the famed May, 1977 show at Barton Hall, Cornell University. Both easy available on the internets. Pay special attention to the Jersey “Eyes of the World” and the Cornell “Scarlet Begonias.”

Okay, I LIKE 1977 Dead. I LIKED being sixteen. I wish I was sixteen now.

In the spirit of this post, If anyone has this album I might be willing to do any groupie like activity to get a copy. :stuck_out_tongue:

People are quick to dismiss it these days for various reasons but I think it belongs on any list of great live albums:Frampton Comes Alive. After all these years it’s still a joy to listen to.

And while I’m at it, I might as well throw KISS ALIVE! into the mix. It had more than it’s share of studio sweetening, but it still was a great listen at parties along with a glass or two of cold gin.

I’ve always liked Blow Your Face Out, by the J. Geils Band.

Oh, my goodness!
