Favorite LotR book (out of the six)?

No, this isn’t another favorite LotR book thread (well it is, but…). LotR was divided into three books by the publishers, not him. He divided it into six books. So, which of these was your favorite?

My favorite is either the third (first part of TTT, with Eeomer and Treebeard and whatnot), or one of the RotK books (the climax and falling action respectively)

Book V without a doubt. The Battle of Pelennor Fields is my favorite par tof the entire novel. Peter Jackson had better not screw that up.

I find, like Splanky, I am partial to book III: The Uruk-hai, Eomer and the Rohirrim, Treebeard, and the return of Mithrandir. It bogs down a little at Entmoot, though. V kicks butt too.

I like 'em all except for Book II. Book II is little more than one long, droning, boring-as-hell song in Elvish.

My personal is book IV (four, in case I fouled up my roman numerals). I greatly enjoy Sam and Frodo versus Shelob, and i cried a great deal.

Ditto on Book IV, although I’m also quite fond of books III and V, so picking a favorite is probably a futile effort for me . . .

I probably would’ve cried during Book IV, too, except I already knew that Frodo was going to be alive in Books V and VI, so I knew he couldn’t’ve been dead.

My favorite chapter is definitely “The Choices of Master Samwise”, but the rest of Book IV is a bit of a drag, so I’m going to go with either III or V: I like the big battles.

Yep yep. The Battle of the Pelennor Fields. In the movie, that bit with Grond II (Son of The Sledgehammer of the Underworld) and especially the epic scene Dernhelm will, if my already high expectations are met or exceeded - be cinematic magic.
