Also: One must pay respect to Angelo Badalamenti, and his haunting score for Twin Peaks.
An Italian movie:*Where The Hot Wind Blows *(Sometimes called The Law, which I believe was the name of the book it was based on). The movie isn’t very good, but I watch it occasionally just for the score. I have the score on one side of a 33rpm record and it doesn’t have the impact at all of the movie; the score must be heard while watching the movie.
Ennio Morricone’s Once Upon a Time in the West
1941
It stirs me even more so than the score from Patton.
But it could be because I watched it only three hours ago.
Beauty and the Beast
some very good ones have already been listed.
I would like to add Grand Prix
Just awesome
Another great movie score is from How the West was Won, A terrific movie which seems to have had every known actor in Hollywood in it.
Braveheart or Back to the Future.
Zeffirelli’s Romeo and Juliet
The music was perfect - fit the time period and was haunting and beautiful at the same time.
