The Van Halen family—Eddie and Alex’s dad was a clarinet player…Now Eddie’s son Wolfgang plays in the band.
The Barra MacNeils.
Kate and Paddy Bush.
Are you kidding me? Does no one else appreciate the Lennon Sisters?
Tim Finn, Neil Finn, Liam Finn for their work as solo artists, and with bands Crowded House, Split Enz and Betchadupa
Nick Seymour of Crowded House, Tarmac Adam, Deadstar and more; and his older brother Mark Seymour of Hunters and Collectors and solo work
Nope, DfrntBreign, you’re the only one to mention the Marsalis family:
Ellis Marsalis (dad), and sons Wynton, Branford, Delfeayo and Jason. Seems to me I read something about another Marsalis in the next generation, but my google-fu isn’t helping me turn up anyone who’s a musician.
Also…they didn’t grow up as family, but Norah Jones and Anoushka Shankar are Ravi Shankar’s daughters.
This far in and no mention of the Jacksons? (Even if the various other siblings were outshone by Michael and Janet.)
The Partridge Family! The Brady Bunch!
yeah…I’ll escort myself out…
Speaking of Wilsons, there’s also sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson of Heart; Cindy & late brother Ricky Wilson of the B-52’s; and brothers Matt and Dan Wilson of Trip Shakespeare (before Dan went on to found Semisonic; roughly, Semisonic is to Trip Shakespeare as Crowded House is to Split Enz).
Other brother acts: The Smothers Brothers (who are actually pretty good musicians); The Jonas Brothers; the brothers of Hanson; and the brothers of Nelson, who are sons of Ricky Nelson. (I learn from Wikipedia that “They are listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the only family to reach number one record status in three successive generations (beginning with grandparents Ozzie and Harriet Nelson).”)
Ok, I have to. The Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band!
Josh Peyton (guitars/vocals/songwriter)
Jayme Peyton, Josh’s brother (drums)
Breezy Peyton, Josh’s wife (washboard)
They’re not famous yet, but they’re still in their early 20’s and if they don’t hurt themselves with their maniacal touring schedule, very well could be legends in the making. I don’t have a link because you need a subscription for it, but a good sign that it could be starting is that their latest album entered the Billboard Blues charts at #4, and they only started touring full-time fairly recently.
