Elf’s Lament, by Barenaked Ladies:
Do They Know It’s Christmas makes me feel like I’m 10 again.
But Happy Christmas (War is Over) is my favoritest favorite.
Heh. We were cleaning out the garage the other day, and we found an ancient limited-edition VHS tape (original video, sessions, interviews) that Band Aid sold to help promote the song and raise money. It is so fucking awesome! We thought “eBay” for a second but then got ahold of ourselves.
I’m torn between Tom Lehrer’s “A Christmas Carol” and Weird Al’s “The Night Santa Went Crazy”.
“Walking 'Round in Women’s Underwear” and “I Came Upon a Roadkill Deer” are sooo much Christmas to me any more. I almost can’t sing the real words now.
Straight No Chaser’s version of The Twelve Days of Christmas is pretty non-traditional. If you’ve seen the video (and I know that it’s been mentioned on the SDMB before), then you know what I mean.

Dar Williams, The Christians and the Pagans:
So the Christians and the Pagans sat together at the table
Finding faith and common ground the best that they were able
And where does magic come from, I think magic’s in the learning
Cause now when Christians sit with Pagans only pumpkin pies are burning
Snoopy and the Red Baron, hands down.
Ooh, great choice.
