Favorite Odd Soda flavors

Sunkist makes a sparkling lemonade that’s similar to what you describe. Have you tried it?

A lot of my faves have been mentioned, including CelRay, Rock & Rye, Vernors, birch beer, and ginger beer (so spicy!). I also loved one I had in Uruguay, Paso de los Toros pomelo flavor (similar to grapefruit). In the birch beer/root beer vein, I like a lot of sarsaparillas I’ve tried. It’s sometimes too sweet, but less often than root beer, in my experience.

For Cad Jnr.: Jarritos Tamarind
For me: Black Cherry, preferably Fanta

Ever since I was a kid, I always wished someone would make a cinnamon soda, like liquid Hot Tamales candy. Has it ever been done?

Apparently, Pepsi made (makes?) a hot cinnamon flavor called Pepsi Fire, but it’s not available in the US.

And there’s So Duh! brand Liquid Fire Cinnamon Soda.

Also, if you haven’t tried ginger beer, give it a shot. It’s ginger and not cinnamon, but the sweetness and spiciness are very similar. Some brands, especially Jamaican varieties, are pretty much like drinking melted Red Hots. You need another beverage to cool off afterward!

I have not, but I will definitely seek it out.

Blenheim is my favorite brand of spicy ginger ale. It really is quite hot. I’ve seen it for sale at my local Beverages and More, although the Blenheim web site doesn’t list BevMo as a retailer.

It might have done better if Coke had been more open about it being their product. If you looked at the fine print, you saw that it was a Coke product, but it was marketed as an anti-corporate “slacker” drink. Many people I knew refused to drink it because they felt that they were being condescended to by the ads.

As for me, I tried it a couple times. It tasted like a so-called “Suicide.” I didn’t care for it.
