I have five “hot link” websites available to check for weather situations. Two are for local TV station radars, two are some specialty sites for local amateur (I assume) stats and pictures.
That’s one of my five, too. I have it set for my ZIP code and use that for the up-close radar views. Their pictures are great also and I have my wallpaper from their galleries.
They want you to subscribe to their mobile web service, but the free link is easy to bookmark.
You can keep track of more then 20 different locales. I don’t really know the upper limit but every time I go to a new installation, I add the zipcode.
The best thing about the site is that you get closeup animated NexRad images.
I can get a resolution down to about 1.5 miles, which can really do a good job of telling me when a shower is going to start and when it should end.
I like the personal weather station, PWS, a couple of miles from my home for reports. For forecasts I find an AM radio station’s web-page to be the best.
Great stuff! My personal favorite (for this time of year) is The Chase: live, streaming dash cams by honest-to-god tornado chasers. The A-One Best way to chase tornadoes without being at risk from one.
