Favorite Order of the Stick character

I probably left a few out, but didn’t want the list to get too bloated; feel free to mention anybody that I didn’t list, and why you liked them.

Me, I love Belkar-he’s a surprisingly deep character for someone who started out as a seeming one note killing joke. I also like the redemption/realigning angle too (subject to debate as it might be). Plus he gets a lot of the best lines.

And as of this post, it’s 100% Belkar!

“I’m a sexy, shoeless God of War!!”

eta: Secondary vote for Mr. Scruffy.

I’ve got to go with the nerd for my #1. Yeah, he’s a villain, but he’s a very interesting villain.

For second place, though, I’d have to say it’s the supreme goodass, O-Chul, with Monster-San following soon after.

Roy. I must go with Roy for not only being the leader of such a pack but also managing to get a lot of the memorable lines (“Your approval fills me with shame.”) despite being the ‘straight man’.

Redcloak. He gets good lines, gets chances to be badass (the Tsusiko thing was great) and is the sort of villain where you can empathize with his side. At the same time, he’s not “wrong perspective” evil but rather is straight up evil: torturing, killing for pleasure, risking the destruction of the world for his agenda, etc. He can play both the straight man to curtail Xykon’s lunacy or else join in equally well. All around interesting guy.

Out of the Order itself, I have a soft place for Durkon’s understated role in the party. I don’t have much hope for him ever getting reverted but I’m holding out for him having one last victory in the end.

If it were a poll for the most interesting character, I’d have voted for Redcloak. But for favorite character, I went with Haley.

I predict a Belkar win.

I voted Belkar with V. a close second.

Belkar is funny and all, but V has the most interesting stories, I think. I’m always happy when the story focuses on V, whereas Belkar’s kinda one-note.

I also kinda wanted to vote Tarqin or Malack, but we had far too little of them…

Monster-in-the-Dark and Thog deserve votes, but I went with Belkar, like everyone else.

Hard to pick just one, as good as Burlew’s writing is. I think I’d like Roy more than just about any of the others if I were to meet the characters, but my first impulse on reading the poll was to choose V. RedCloak’s another great choice too.

Yeah-I almost let the votes be unlimited, but some might vote for just one, some for 2 or 3, some for like 10-which is why I didn’t vote in the poll we had last week on fave LOTR character-I’d have gone with Gandalf as my clear #1, but if I added in 3-5 others, he wouldn’t be my top choice anymore mathematically and strictly speaking at least.

For the longest time every halfling I read about seemed to try and be like Tasslehoff, and it was a refreshing change of pace to see a mean, nasty, SOB of a halfling, so I voted for Belkar, my sexy god of war.

Second place would be the monster in the darkness, and third would go to Elan. I love his puppets!

I just love them all SOOOO much that I couldn’t choose just one or two. So I’m casting my vote for the one who has made me laugh out loud, cry silently to myself, and go into deep thoughtful reveries.

Rich Burlew.

Even if he IS making me wait crazy amounts of time between updates.

Not a Dark Sun player, then…
From the Monster Manual entry for Halfling, Athasian: "The halfling’s meat-only diet means that halflings see all living creatures more as food than as equals. " That includes all non-halfling races like Humans and Elves…

Yeah, I’m really looking forward to the Dim Sun Kickstarter PDF, just to see Belkar’s reaction to a world where all halflings are bloodthirsty savages.
