They are indeed fascinating.
Among portraits during my lifetime, I like Carter’s the best. He looks so calm and assured. W’s and Reagan’s are horrible; the former for his totally fake aw-shucks affectation, and the latter because it’s just bad, the least lifelike and communicative of any of the portraits.
