Pill Pockets have the same texture–it’s actually how I always describe Pill Pockets to clients. You should be able to find them at the vet or pet-supply store, maybe even Walmart or such.
Mince Meat mix in a box. It came as a solid block that was boiled and then used as filling in my favorite pie. Mmmmm…give me mince meat and I’m a happy fellow.
Awww… I didn’t know that. Very sweet.
BTW they have Skinny Cow sandwiches in Texas.
I thought of one. Eckrich used to make a Macaroni & Cheese Loaf lunchmeat. It was really tasty stuff, and it was the only one we’d buy. Now, it’s gone. I haven’t saw it around for a good two years, I’ll bet.
Oh well. We’re eating healthier because of it, I guess.
Remember the liverwurst that had the thin rim of fat around it? Square pieces, perhaps oscar mayer? Haven’t seen that in at least 15 years =(
I have news for you - it isn’t “trendy” when it’s been around for over 10 years.
Where are you? Our Dunkin’ Donuts always have crullers. (New York)
Jalapeno cheddar Cape Cod Potato Chips. I see they’ve replaced them with sweet jalapeno, but they’re just all right, too sweet and not hot enough for my tastes. The savory cheddar flavor mixed with the scorching pepper on the old chips was like ecstasy to me.
I think Bo is refering to the old crullers that were twisted, as opposed to the things they sell now which resemble something else…
Alpha-Bits cereal (old recipe). Yes, you see Alphies on the shelf, but trust me, it ain’t the old alphies. It’s only marginally better than the box it comes in.
Jose Ole Shredded Beef Chimihangas. The Steak and Cheese kind isn’t that bad, but the Shredded Beef kind were outstanding. There was also a Beef Chimy called Primera, which I can’t find anywhere.
Kroger Private Selection Coco Supreme Raspberry and Chocolate. They still stock some flavors, just not that one.
Green Giant Lasagna. It was the perfect size for a single meal. Pretty decent flavor too.
Tato-skins chips. The plain sort. All I can get down here in FL is some crappy Friday’s brand slathered in cheddar and bacon dust.
Moose Drool Beer: Just not available down here, but common in the northwest.
If any 'dopers want to be kind and send me a case of this stuff, I not only will gladly pay for it, but I shall send you an original piece of art in return.
Don’t have time to sift through all the pages to see if someone’s mentioned this, but Walmart sells these, giant orangish bottles with a picture of horses running right? IIRC, the biggest bottle at the store nearest me sold for about $4
Look for specialty liquor stores. Some will do special orders.
St. Ives used to sell a tub of elastin- and collagen-based face cream. If I didn’t think too hard about how they got the elastin and collagen, the stuff was fabulous. Then around the time the whole St. Ives brand got new logos and label designs, the cream disappeared. Now they seem to be concentrating exclusively on their line of scrubs - which are good, but they worked better if I could slap on some of that lotion afterwards.
