Favorite SF restaurant for Sunday brunch

We’ll be in SF next weekend for the Outside Lands music festival. Were looking forward to brunch at Greens but someone has rented out the restaurant for the whole day (must be nice). So begins the search for the perfect Sunday brunch.

Things that are important to us - of course, good eats. Atmostphere. Close to easy parking. We are going to the MOMA first thing in the morning, then will be ready for brunch around noon. A place that takes reservations would be nice.
Can’t require dressy clothes. Type of food is not really an issues, cuz we eat just about everything. Maybe some place not “deep” into the city since we have gotten very lost on occasion.

While we’re at it, has anyone been to the Chilully (sp?) exhibit at the DeYoung museum? Is it worth a quick trip back to the park? Any other ideas for fun but not touristy things to do will be greatly appreciated.

My wife says “Oh, Cliff House, man! The popovers are to die for!” I’ve been there, but not for Sunday Brunch. Cool views, pretty expensive, but not dressy, with all-you-can-drink mimosas. Also pretty close to the stages of the festival.

Have fun! Try not to cause too many parking problems near the festival - I live like a block away from where Tom Petty and Jack Johnson are playing, and I need a space!

So many options, but if you’re new in town, consider the Beach Chalet:

I came in to suggest Beach Chalet. Really good food, really pretty view, good beer, good service, fair prices, super easy parking.

My husband and I have brunch there almost every time we spend a weekend in the city.

Both places look great, my mouth was watering while looking at the menu and pictures of food. The Cliff House may be out of our price range, and there were no tables available at the Beach Chalet. Sigh. We may just go down to North Beach and hope for a spot somewhere, plenty of good food down there.

wheresgeorge04, are you going to the festival? We are only going Friday night, to see Beck and Radiohead. Should be pretty great, especially since we have been broiling in hundred degree temperature all summer in Palm Springs. We are staying at my sister’s in Dublin, and will take BART and then catch a bus to the park. We would never drive anywhere near the festival! I kind of feel sorry for you and your neighbors, although that sounds silly when you consider where it is that you live. Paradise! (not the one by Chico)

Thanks for the great ideas, maybe another time.

Brunch under the big glass atrium ceiling at The Palace is very nice.

Nah. One-day passes are like $85.00. Not worth it for us. I’ll Probably be able to hear the big acts from my house :stuck_out_tongue:
