Favorite song names

Not too original, though, is it?

Guitarist Will Ackerman has some of the best titles around. A personal favorite is “The Second Great Torsion Bar Overland Of West Townshend, Vermont, Jose Pepsi Attending.”

Jimmy Buffett- “My Head Hurts, My Feet Stink, and I Don’t Love Jesus”

Guitar ace Tod Lemkuhl and his band Sadhana used to do fun stuff like fade out a song live (everybody sing softer and keep strumming, just dampen the strings and move the pick away from them).

He had a great instrumental “Ode to the Electric Bun Warmer”.

The Swirling Eddies: “I Had A Bad Experience With The CIA And Now I’m Gonna Show You My Feminine Side

(also “Outdoor Elvis,” “Hide the Beer, The Pastor’s Here,” and “Arthur Fhardy’s Yodeling Party”)

Among classical composers, the master of titles may be Erik Satie, though his are mainly in French and I’m not sure of all the translations.

You left out the subtitle: “A Simple Desultory Philippic (or How I Was Robert McNamara’d into Submission)”

“When I’m Under the Table, I’ll Be Over You” – Earl Thomas Conley
“The Letter That Johnny Walker Read” – Asleep at the Wheel

Ha-ha! Love these…

I’m not much of a fan of country music, but they’ve got lots of great song titles.

Let me add: “D.I.V.O.R.C.E” by Tammy Wynette.

“By-Tor and the Snow Dog” Rush
“Would” Alice In Chains
“You’re the Reason Our Kids Are So Ugly” Loretta Lynn/Twitty
“Thank You (Falletinme Be Mice Elf Again” Sly and the Family Stone
“Chant of the Ever Circling Skeletal Family” Bowie
