Favourite Radio Stations

My favorite station would have to be WBEZ in Chicago. It’s the primary NPR affiliate here and has quite a good lineup.

However, my favorite personality is Steve Dahl, so I listen to him every morning now, on 104.3 FM.

We have two great stations here. There’s Radio K, which is a college station from the U of M. It used to be the best radio station.

Then a few years ago The Current, an MPR station, started. I generally prefer it to Radio K, which can be a little too eclectic at times. Here’s their recently played songs: http://minnesota.publicradio.org/radio/services/the_current/songs_played/

Good to see another Foghead here! One biggie that **garygnu ** missed - Kaboom! - without a doubt, the best fireworks show in the area, and they do it every May. Makes the municipal 4th of July shows look like a ten year old kid with sparklers.

Every now and then, I think back fondly of when I was in Chicago so I could listen to WXRT - Aunt Terri, Frank E With a Period Lee, and all the rest.

I could listen to Y108 online, but when I’m on the computer I usually listen either to mp3s or I have the TV on in the background.

The past couple of days, though (basically since thinking about Y108 and what I liked about it), I have been listening to online archives of The Ongoing History of New Music. It’s a great radio program, simulcast in a few different cities, but none in Montreal as far as I can tell. That’s ok, though, because there are SEVERAL hours of it online that I have never heard!

Nutty Bunny - tell your brother to start playing the Ongoing History and maybe I’ll tune into that channel!
