Favourite song fade ins

Inspired by this thread of fade outs - what are your favourite song fade ins?

I have always been a sucker for a song that fades in. For best fade out I went with 2HB by Roxy Music, and I’m gonna be controversial and nominate it as favourite fade in as well.

The Smiths - Some Girls Are Bigger Than Others

Velvet Underground- “Sweet Jane”.

ELO - Tightrope

Bolt Thrower - The Killchain - perfection!

Wishbone Ash - The King Will Come

Metallica - To Live is to Die

Orion

This is one of those bands that I’d heard of but never actually heard before. I must check them out. But as I listen to it now, the long instrumental intro on this song reminds me of the long instrumental intros on “God Sends Quails” and “Don’t, This Way,” both by the 77s (though the latter doesn’t really have a fade in).

Here is another one from the same Wishbone Ash album: Throw Down The Sword. I especially like the way the guitar riff slowly fades in over the snare drum roll, and then the drums kick in right as the guitar riff hits full volume. (I also love the twin guitar lead outro on this song, which I believe I have posted before in a “favorite outros” thread.)

The guitar in Hate Eternal’s “I, Monarch”.
King Crimson’s “Night Watch” gradually building to a shimmering crescendo.

I just thought of another doozy. This Town Ain’t Big Enough For The Both Of Us by Sparks.

Stevie Wonder’s Sir Duke. That horn makes me feel like dancing.

First one that came to my mind is Elvis Costello’s Man Out of Time.

A scream followed by a short guitar riff that has nothing at all to do with the rest of the song.

It’s perfect.
mmm

Pink Floyd “One of These Days”

Beatles - “Eight Days a Week”

“Pretty Vacant” - Sex Pistols

Traffic - The Low Spark of High-Heeled Boys.

The Police, “Invisible Sun”

The Beatles, “Dig It”

Was also my instant response.
