Feardotcom ripoff...

As horrible as I have heard this movie is, and as Inane as the plot is, they are making a movie with apparently the same ignorant premise.

Ugh, tell me they didn’t put Horror/Thriller/Drama as the Genre. Please tell me it is a Spoof. I doubt very much it is. How sad.

Apparently, it’s a remake of an excellent Japanese film of the same name. On Fametracker, folks have been saying DEFINITELY see the original, and there are quite a few folks who seem eager to see this one. As a side note, the Fametracker people also seem to feel that feardotcom was a colossal joke - or should have been.

Ahh, Feardotcom was the ripoff, interesting.

All the reviews I have heard from those I know that have seen Feardotcom think it is a joke. Some even suggested it takes the place in the halls of the worst movie ever. Move over Battlefield Earth. That is pretty bad.

Yes, see the original, and i’ve actually heard a few good reviews of the american remake. As opposed to feardotcom, where after viewing it most people devolve into jellyfish and every molecule in their bodies explode at the speed of light.

The original Ring, as well as its sequel, is available on eBay.

Unfortunately, when people hear about Ring, they’ll immediately think of Feardotcom, and avoid it. Which is a shame, because the Japanese Ring is one of the most chilling movies I have seen. I’m looking forward to seeing the American version, as they are keeping many elements of the original (the mirror, the well etc) while adapting others to the setting. I want to see whether it’ll be anywhere near as good as the original

Ring and it’s sequel are both available at the local Blockbuster. I keep meaning to rent them.

I’m looking forward to the Dreamworks version of The Ring. The web campaign they’ve been running for the past several weeks is captivating.
