Fecal transplant for recurring C. difficile

Ugh.
But speaking of that webpage…

Shortly before she retired I presented my PC Physician with a genuine Bristol Stool Chart coffee mug. (My wife and I were friends as well as patients.)

Adds an item to my Christmas list

I just got the courage to open this thread. It does mean what I think it means. Makes sense I guess, but I had never heard of such a thing.

I bet that was an interesting conversation.

Good luck to you.

Enteric coated shit pills

Taking 15 a day for 2 days helped treat c diff in 14/20 people. Of the other 6, 4 had remission after a second trial.

Confirmed by a second source!

“Fecal transplants just got easier to swallow.” Oh, what will those DC natives write about next? :smack:

Since this is a medical thread, moved to IMHO (from MPSIMS).

I read that article the other day. Bummer that the only capsules they could find that wouldn’t get dissolved in the stomach are transparent. Because of all the pills you’d want to not see inside, these would be the ones!

I was hospitalized with food poisoning several years ago. Fortunately, it was only campylobacter and responded to antibiotics. But I would have done the fecal transplant in a heartbeat if it would have made me feel less crappy sooner.
