Federal Aira mrshall Service/Non-Stop

33 years in law enforcement and most TV show and movies are lame to me because there is always half a dozen things that are wayyyy wrong.

With that said I know nothing of the FAMS or their policies & procedures.
In the movie “Non-Stop” the captain of the plane tells the Marshall that he’s been authorized to take take his pistol and badge. The Marshall eventually reluctantly gives them to him.

:eek:WTF?

To me that would be the same as the bus driver relieving me of my gun and badge when the Sheriffs Office used to have Deputies ride on random county buses to provide security.

Please tell me that’s one of the things that are wayyy wrong with this movie and not an actual procedures in real life for the Air Marshals to follow!

No, or at least not anymore. 49 CFR § 1544.223 requires all aircraft operators to carry FAMs when directed to do so by the TSA.
