I’ve heard arguments that federal income tax is unconstitutional (since it’s a non-apportioned direct tax), was never correctly ratified (supposedly cited in recent court cases), and that there is actually no law that exists that requires you to pay income taxes. Could spread clarity on any or all of these arguments?

All those anti-tax arguments you mention are sheer nonsense. The Tax Protester FAQ I cite is a one-click source that refutes these and dozens more. They have been exploded by all the courts in the country and the wonderful news is that many of the main expounders of these tax cheat theories have been sent to jail.
