I don’t know about chemicals, but this may explain why I climb an estimated one hundred billion of those picturesque Montreal staircases per campaign and yet never lose a damn pound.

Last year an environmental group offered free blood tests to Europarliament members; the EP was reviewing environmental legislation. The idea was to show how long some chemicals stay in your body, years after you’ve been in contact with them, as well as that you sometimes get stuff that you can’t even figure out where you got it.
The lists of substances found included many that have been forbidden for ten, twenty years.
