Fee for job search -- am I right to be suspicious?

The fee in question by the company that contacted me was (theoretically) for developing a “Customized ProMotion Campaign,” and for “career management” (whatever that is), not specifically for the placement itself.

That’s the gotcha. What’s the incentive for them to actually find you anything? Even in you were to pay someone to find you a job, you have to have them find you a job.

Y’know, now I’m feeling really stupid for even beginning to think of the vaguest possibility of seriously considering the email I got. :smack: In fact, I should probably start a pit thread criticizing myself for being such a moron.

I got a call very similar to the OP during my last layoff, about a year ago. It seemed fishy and I terminated the call, telling them I wasn’t interested in paying for jobsearch resources.

I still think I made the right choice there.
