Female Dopers who use pads, a question for you

As regards what I witnessed in this thread would you notice if this happened to you? Can you actually feel the pad when you are using one?

Yes, I’m a guy.:stuck_out_tongue:

I can’t imagine how that could happen, unless the woman was trying to wear a full-size pad with a thong, i.e., there wasn’t enough underwear for the pad to adhere to effectively. (Most women who wear thongs would wear tampons, though.)

You don’t have to be a woman to know you’d experience some degree of discomfort if that was to fall out your pant leg unless, of course, she had a prosthesis. My guess is she was trying not to call attention to what would have been an extremely embarassing situation.

Well, if everything’s adjusted properly and all, you can’t usually feel the pad, just like you don’t feel your undies when they’re adjusted properly. When they’re not adjusted properly, though, you notice. Oh boy, do you notice. Think wedgie, then transfer that feeling to your crotch. Oh, and if for some reason you can’t get to restroom right away, add in the concern that you’re bleeding like a stuck pig all over your favorite jeans, or the last set of clean scrubs in your locker, or whatever.

I’m with Am, here. The scenario you describe is spectacularly unlikely, and she was either wearing a thong/g-string or she was trying to wear a pad while going commando, or she had a majorly defective pad.

I have to disagree with Crazycatlady on this one. Properly adjusted they’re less noticable, but I’ve yet to find a brand that isn’t at least somewhat noticable most of the time. mini-pads excepted, but that’s not going to do most women much good during their periods. She had to have noticed.

Regardless of whether she noticed it when it was in its proper spot, she had to have noticed it working its way down her leg. She was either too embarrassed to do anything, or had been raised in a barn. (No offense to the mannerly folks out there who were, and wouldn’t think of doing such a thing.)

>_< eeeeeeeew!

Yeah, most likely I would notice. Can’t speak for anyone else, though. Mayhaps the miss in question liked her briefs a bit baggy? Although I can’t see how she would have just not noticed I can understand how she might have been at a loss as to what to do. I don’t know for sure what I would do in that situation, but likely I wouldn’t just stand there and do nothing!

It’s like from The Great Escape when they’re trying to spread all the tunnel dirt around the prison yard.

No way could she not notice! Trust me, “accidents” are one thing (I’ve had them with both pads and tampons) but I’ve never lost one.

Would you notice if you crapped your pants and that fell out your pant leg! Because I think that’s a comparable situation in many ways. . .

Yes, I can feel it and am aware of it, and I’ll be damned if I’m going to let the little bastard make a break for it.

Well, I had a bleeding hemorrhoid (fixed now) and had to do something until my appointment, so I got me a box of Maxis. I did kinda lose track of that sucker a couple of times, but always got to the restroom on time. So I can see how it could happen.
The doc put a rubber band around the bleedy part, and it just rotted off! She put one of those mongo hostpital pads “there” to prevent spotting. Funny lady, I must say.
Just thought you folks might like a man’s POV. :stuck_out_tongue:
Peace,

News flash to guys! Yes a woman would know if this happened. Especially if it had wings. I doubt it would…pads have sticky stuff that secures it to the underwear. And if there are wings, they wrap around and stick to the bottom of the underwear and some even now have velcro.

It might have been the gob of tp that women who are caught “off guard” use to hold them over. But that could be felt. And you think her friends would have tried to help her…like stand behind her or something…I don’t know.

Too much of this story doesn’t make sense.

I’ve been married once, and cohabited a few times.

Well I can think of one way it could happen. If she tried to stick the pad straight to her pants. But most women, including myself, are not all that concerned with a visible panty line (VPL) during there periods.

Some pads are more feelable than others. I’ve worn some – usually the kind one gets from vending machines in bathrooms – that made it feel like I had a surfboard in my pants.

Worse than a visible panty line…a visible PAD line. But just because it felt like a surfboard doesn’t mean that it will flop out. I feel your pain though sister…Kotex regular always felt like a surfboard to me.

I’ve had them get detached and travel… but usually nothing happened until I actually removed the underwear. And I sure as heck would feel it!
