No, just that 11 years age difference is not beyond what is normally accepted in western culture, though it’s seldom the female who’s the older. I have only the information from the Wikipedia article. I read it as he was trying to cover up the pictures of Debra’s “genital area”. I see now I might have misunderstood it, or that that the article is unclear about what acts he was trying to cover up. Was it the downloading of porn or the taking pictures of Debra? If the latter then it seems those pictures did not serve wholly legitimate purpose.
In any case, it is a basic principle of human rights, that punishment must be in some reasonable relation to the crime – that goes even more so I suppose for the investigation.

I’d not heard about the officer involved being fired for surfing for porn at work.
However, when the photos of Lefave’s hoochy were taken, her lawyer protested, on the basis that they might get released on a Freedom of Information Act request. It was pointed out that this is the same procedure used for rape cases involving male accuseds. Especially as (according to what I recall of the article I read) the genitals of the accused were considered distinctive, either a tattoo, piercing or something else.
I’m not saying that the pictures couldn’t be misused. Nor that they weren’t. I have no idea whether they were, or not. Only that there was a legitimate legal reason for them to be taken.
