Feral Kitten

I’m so happy!! You’ve made my day!! Peanut has a human!!

YAY !!! Hearty congrats on capturing the wild kitty !

And dare I say… we expect pictures?

We always expect pictures!

Congrats! I befriended a feral kitten in much the same way. Be sure to clean the ears of any ear mites! My kitten became very attached to me and no one else, and is still going strong at 17 years!
Good luck to you and the new best buddy!

I rescued my Feather from the Humane Society (well, she was there, and I took her home with me), and she is completely attached to me, too. She will barely walk over my husband to get to me (I don’t think she’s ever curled up in his lap), and she expects to curl up on my chest and purr for a while every night before getting kicked out of the bedroom.

Oh yeah - train your kitten from day one to not sleep in the bedroom. I know they are incredibly sweet when they’re all cuddled up next to you, but you will thank me for it later, trust me.

Once again I am reminded that I just think you are the BEST! I miss having you in the area, and hope that everything is going well with you. You need to get back soon, because I never HAVE gotten around to seeing the Troll, you know…and it just wouldn’t be the same if you weren’t there when I DO.

One time I was at a friend’s house and he pitched a cola can in the trash. I was surprised, as most people I know recycle. I asked him why he didn’t. He said that the earth is doomed to be overrun with trash and one person can’t make a difference. I didn’t quite know what to say, since it is true that one person’s trash is a drop in the bucket. But still, I believe that if every “one person” did small things to make a difference, the big things would get resolved. I said as much to my friend, and he laughed and said he wasn’t surprised that this was how I felt. But that it was never going to happen, so I could keep on doing my small things if it made me feel better, but…those things would never actually “make a difference.” He also mentioned tilting at windmills. Well, you know…maybe he is right. But I figure that if everyone feels that way, we don’t have a chance in the world to get anywhere. And just in case, I want to be part of the solution…not part of the problem. I have never in my life done anything that I would consider to be a “big thing”, and I don’t suppose I’ll ever have the resources to actually DO a “big thing.” [sub]unless I happen to win the lottery, which reminds me that I really should buy a ticket onceinawhile…[/sub] But if the only thing I ever CAN do is “small things”, then that is what I’ll try to do. Sometimes the small things matter a whole lot to one other person…or furry baby.

I don’t think this was a small thing, and I’m willing to bet that Peanut doesn’t feel it is, either.

Bless you, honey.

[sub]sorry for the rambling hijack…this is something I think about sometimes, and you reminded me why I always come up with the same conclusion.[/sub]
