Feral Pigs
Feral Pigs?
Feral pigs seem to be trending in this thread.
I’ve heard that feral pigs are very stealthy critters and hard to spot in the wild. All you’ll see is spoor or tracks; evidence of where they’ve been and might be again. But no pigs anywhere in sight.
A feral pig once bit my sister…
At least not in this thread so far.
I’m so pissed. I’ve typed this post TWICE.
Two points I wanted to make: feral pigs on “Homestead Rescue,” and now iI read Texas is offering a $5/head bounty on feral pigs.
Now I must make a voodoo doll of the board’s software, and stick rusty USB plugs in it.

Hey @discobot, what’s the deal with feral pigs?
Hi! To find out what I can do, say @discobot display help
.
From his title/motto, I’d say discobot will be collecting a lot of those $5 bounties.
I know some folks that make sport of shooting feral pigs in the countryside around greater D/FW. They’ll be overjoyed to have the state pay for their hobby. But if the state is going to make even a dent in the pig population it’ll take a lot more than $5/head to get the slaughter scaled up enough.
Pigs breed almost as well as rabbits.
Say I’m standing on the corner of Rush and Chicago outside the Park Hyatt Hotel, how can I tell if I see a free roaming pig whether it’s feral or not? I mean, honestly…
Is the pig wearing a suit?
If it’s wearing torn jeans, a dirty t-shirt and flip flops, it’s probably feral. Or it has a recording contract.

If it doesn’t tip its hat as it passes you by, then it’s feral.
I can see them, smell them, hear them.
This place is like San Francisco was to the hippies, for feral hogs.
They just keep on coming.
Peace
Groovey
And
Rock n Roll.
Would you say there are 30-50 feral hogs?
There was that one guy a while back who tried to use the gun control debate to try and get people to care about the feral pig problems, and got blasted for it. There is a Reply All podcast episode about him, which is where I learned about the problem.
I’m on my phone so links are difficult. But just Google Reply All feral hogs
and you’ll find it. Many episodes even have transcripts, if you’d rather read about it.
Feral pigs sound like a funny problem. But they’re a legit scourge. Just like feral cats.
In either case they breed uncontrollably and out-compete almost all the local wildlife.
Trained, domestic pigs are ok.
Excellent bedwarmers.
Not sure how to do the two click thing here on the new platform. Graphic vid of killing feral pigs with night vision scopes.
