Two separate crowds, each estimated at about 2,000 people, held demonstrations tonight in Ferguson with no reports of violence. There was minimal police presence.
One might almost be tempted to think that the heavy handed tactics of the Ferguson PD might have sparked some of the violence.
It’s amazing how police respond when a mob isn’t throwing molotov cocktails at them, looting and burning stores, threatening to kill police officers, and wasn’t a protestor shot by police the day after Brown was killed, because he was aiming a shotgun at the police?
The crowds/mobs attitude certainly seems to have changed.

Ah, so that’s how you see the cause/effect here? The police were right and acting right all along, so when the ONLY overt change is in police tactics, it must be because SOMETHING mysterious must have happened to the protestors?

And it looks like the good cops have taken over from the bad cops. Looks like Ferguson has had their “Lt. Gen. Russel Honore” take over the show, and his name is Captain Ronald Johnson. The sight of a policeman hugging the protesters and not pointing a sniper rifle is sure to upset a few people in this thread: but for others it couldn’t have come a moment sooner.

Well, you do have to admit that the incidents of “evil black cop” shooting the “innocent” white person are a lot rarer. In fact, let’s remove the qualifiers and try to find incidents of black cops shooting unarmed white perps. I tried googling, really nothing much out there. The “Gil Collar” incident, maybe, and that looked justified to me.
