"Feud" vs. "Mad Men" opening title art....

Anyone besides me notice a distinct similarity between the opening artwork of the new “Feud: Bette and Joan” show, and the opening credits of “Mad Men”? Both involve paper cut-out type animation and a lot of falling. I don’t know where to look in the pages and pages of behind the scenes credits on IMDb to see if there is some commonality. Anyone know? In any case, I love both sets.

Ryan Murphy (“Feud” creater/director) also created “American Horror Story,” which also always had awesome opening credit art, but it never reminded me of this style.

Definitely an homage to the legendary Saul Bass, the single greatest innovator of opening film credits. Here’s an example of the work he was doing right around the time that Feud takes place.

Another memorable homage was Spielberg’s Catch Me If You Can 15 years ago.
