Fiber

Recentally I’ve been taking some metamucil in order to supplement my bodies fiber demands (I’m on a diet). I think it works great and what not, but something on the container has led me to some confusion.

The container says that fiber is good for the heart, there was no explanation of the claim, so naturally I’m a bit confused. The body I understand, fiber helps form…certain things…In any event I was wondering, why is it good for the heart? Is it just because it’s good for the body and therefore it will be good for the heart?

Well, apparently there are claims to links between fibre and reduced coronary disease.
