fiber

Got to reading the losing weight question and i have one about fiber. Long ago I decided to try vegetarianism. Now it wasn’t all vegetables etc. My main changes were eating whole wheat bread, sprouts and peanut butter.
I ended up having to use the bathroom maybe 2 to 3 times a day and had to hurry to get there.
I felt no better but figured getting rid of waste is good.
Was this a good thing?
Or maybe a bodily reaction to wheat or sprouts?

There are two kinds of fiber: soluble fiber and insoluble fiber.

Soluble fiber is, as I understand it, what you want to maximize your intake of. It has lots and lots of benefits to the body.

Insoluble fiber is simply a dietary whisk broom that sweeps through you as quickly as it can. Getting a lot of it in your diet is a great way to replicate the symptoms of Montezuma’s revenge without actually ingesting the bacteria responsible for it.

HmI would guess wheat bread is soluable.
