Are there any fictitious streets or towns in Melbourne, Australia? On any map brand or whatever?
Thanks
Melbourne is a big city; it has suburbs, not “towns”. And I very much doubt there are any fictitious streets on our maps. Melway is by far the most popular Melbourne map publisher. It’s a byword in Melbourne, people say “check the Melway” rather than “check the street directory”.
Fictitious Melbourne streets seems an oddly specific thing to be asking after, is there a reason you’re wondering about this?
She’s probably thinking about those deliberate errors that mapmakers are sometimes said to include in their maps for the sole purpose of checking and proving that someone violated their copyright by slavishly copying their original map.
Apparently so. OP seems interested in copyright traps, as mentioned in this other nearby thread.
Just curious after reading a book and have been looking to see if any still happen around where I live. Just thought someone may know something.
