OK, inspired by a reference in another thread to Meco Menardo’s medley of the “Star Wars” music which hit #1 in 1977.
He also released a recording of the theme from “Close Encounters,” which was not quite so big a hit. Anyway. . . in the movie when the little boy (played by Carey Guffey) sees the lights going away, he says, "Good-bye. . . "
In Menardo’s theme of CE3K, at the end, you can hear a soft voice saying "Good-bye. . . Good-bye. . . "
I seem to recall when this was current, listening to Casey Kasem’s AT40, and he mentioned a trivia not about this recording, that the voice saying “Good-bye” belonged to a singer named Kvitka ‘Kasey’ Cisyk, best (un)known for supplying Didi Conn’s singing voice in the movie “You Light Up My Life.”
But I can find no corroboration of the vocals in the CE3K theme, or any reference to who does supply the vocals.
Anyone???
