Fiendishly hard song id (last ten years or so)

“Joyride” by Roxette?

It has some vaugely carnivalistic sounds in the song mix.

Here’s the first thing I thought of:

“The Show Must Go On” by Three Dog Night.
mmm

More saloon than circus.

Kid Rock - Cowboy

Links right to interlude.

The High Road by Broken Bells

Could it be Everything Counts by Depeche Mode? It’s an older song, however it’s popular enough that they could possibly play it in Outback and it’s obscure enough that you could have gone 20+ years without hearing of it.

Something off of Leon Russell’s Carney album?

“Roses are Free” by Ween? That breakdown is carnival/video game sounding, but I would be surprised if it was played at Outback.

I was going to suggest “Life” by Sly & the Family Stone but that might be too old.

Rick Astley’s “Never Gonna Give You Up?”

Havent’ had time to review the new contenders, but if there’s a hit, I’ll reply. I’m familiar with the songs by Astley, Roxette, and Three Dog Night, and it’s not those. (But thanks!)

Thanks for the responses, but not are a hit. I’m surprised, though, on how close some of them did sound.

Just heard MGMT’s “Kids” on Pandora and thought of this thread … not sure if it fits the description, though.

It might also help us if you let us know which sounded close.
