An interesting list. I assume they polled British actors, which would explain Alison Steadman.
I’m also surprised that Johnny Depp was second. Good actor, but second?

a fun list and good discussion starter. Having the first woman at #8 and NOT being Katharine Hepburn - who comes in as the second woman at #9 (Dame Judi Dench is #8) - is just so wrong in so many ways that is isn’t worth getting upset about, but it does call the rest of the list into question…
I agree. Johnny Depp is surely a fantastic actor, but he is still in the youthful stages of his career. He hasn’t really exited his typical roles and styles of film.
1st place through 5th should definitely be reserved for those truly well-rounded artists.
Can someone tell me how Brad Pitt, at #30, comes in higher than Gary Oldman’s #36?
These lists are always fucked up. But that’s one fucked up list.
Peter Sellers at 24? 2-fucking-4? You’ve got to be kidding. I like Edward Norton, but there’s just no way.
DeNiro probably belongs at #7 if you ignore the last… what, 15 years of his career? The same might be true for Nicholson, although I don’t know if he ever had that much range.
For that matter, Frank Sinatra is ahead of Orson Welles? I’d like to know which stars of the screen were involved in this thing.
They at least got #1 right.
that is a good list. i’m glad brando is #1
i’m glad c. walken is that high too…
