What sort of reasoning is this?
You’re ok up to Hamas is “instrinsically dishonest” although I’d be careful of throwing stones if I were you, given recent form.
But it’s plain as day the Hamas narrative about French Revolution and Masons etc is there as a prologue and history to the misconceived formation of the Israeli state. It’s a leap outside reason to then assert, as you do, that pointing out this quality in the narrative is a testament to its truth.
Anyway, at least you’ve resiled from ‘there is no evidence’ position on a number of points where the evidence is apparent. What would a person of good grace do? Instead you make numerous attempts to change the questions.
A review will help as you’re having trouble with focus:
‘The group is anti-semitic;’ and ‘The group intends a genocide in Israel:’ These are extraordinary claims. Yet, right here there is evidence they are commonly accepted without sceptical inquiry. Instead the slenderest evidence or none at all somehow suffices to move adults to voice an unwavering adherence to these positions.
Further a sceptical inquiry into those positions meets with hostility and impugned motivations. Instead the far more likely and plausible explanations that the conflict concerned has no special or rare qualities; this obvious and sensible position is not duly regarded. It’s enough to move an inquiring mind to question. Maybe the mindset is a product of an older generation.
Other parts of your post and others’ points elsewhere are matters of interpretation, on which opinion differ and are not amenable to resolution. Similarly the tone and mood of the Hamas document is a subject best fit for Cafe Society, so if you wish …
