Ads rotate. It’s not there anymore. Is it important where it was on the layout? It was on the right side, near the top, where you couldn’t miss it, and pretty big. Next time, I’ll take a screen shot.
I saw the ad before I saw this thread. I thought “This looks like some interesting scamistry.” I clicked on it. I got the video, I said “nahh, ain’t worth my time”, I got the “don’t go” popup, and left anyway. The ad site in question, in combination with Google, uses tracking cookies to know you’ve been there. Just now, I got an ad that says “Come Back! You need to finish watching this “Slash Your Electric Bill” video now! Return To Video”…
Yeah, that’s some real ignorance fighting, there, in the ads you people (TPTB) allow…
The “don’t go”/“are you sure”/“click on one or more links before leaving” popups are the worst…especially on porn sites. They always hit you right when you’re ah, coming around the corner, as it were.
Just trying to figure the layout and how much it appears sponsored by the site.
I tend to blank out the ads myself, so just trying to get the impression.
My general policy is the more respected the site, the less I consider their ad content to be reflective of their intent.
