Filesharing, and bringing the Court System to its knees with gridlock!

The recording industry is going after the small-guy file swapper. Now, avoiding the whole “is it stealing or is it not” argument for the sake of this thread, lets concentrate on this idea:

What if everyone who activly file-shares (or whatever the correct term is) continues to do so, despite the threat of getting sued by “the Industry”? Lets say the Industry starts naming tens, hundreds maybe thousands of individuals. Lets say these individuals all demand a day in court, refuse any fines and basiclly play passive-aggressive hardball? Is the court system going allow this? They would become so bogged down with this nonsense that I would be willing to guess they would disregard them and eventually dismiss them entirely. How rigourously would any judgements be enforced?

Am I nuts? I don’t file-swap because I don’t know how or really want to. But it seems to me the whole issue is being dealt with incorrectly by the Industry. If I was a bit younger and a student, I can easily see myself saying, “Fucko Off, Record Industry! Come and get me! Waste as much time and money on me as you can! In the end you’ll get NOTHING! Gotcha-Ya!”

What ya all think out there would happen if something like this happened on a large scale?

Why do the artists that bitch the loudest about free downloading get so much radio airplay?

It is also pretty obvious I don’t know much about the court system either, so clear me up on that as well, if you want.

Why do the same people who download music for free bitch that artists “sell out”?
