Films shot on video

I know 28 Days Later was shot on digital, and I’ve seen some low budgets that obviously were. What other well known ones were?

Star Wars: Episode 2

Jackpot

Collateral

are a few just off the top of my head.

From Dust to Glory was shot on several combinations of film, HD digital and DV. Go see it, it is most excellent. Disclosure: a friend of mine edited the film, but it is a very fun ride.

Let’s not forget some of the pioneers (not digital, but video):

200 Motels (1971)
Harlow (1965) – There were two movie biographies of Jean Harlow that year; this one was filmed in “Electrovision,” which I’ve seen described as being similar to videotape.
Ten From Your Show of Shows (1973) – not video, but kinescopes of the TV broadcasts. Since videotape didn’t exist when the TV show was on (the film was released 20 years later), this is essentially the same.

Jackpot. I know the cinematographer. Pretty stuff. He also shot the Polish Brother’s other two recent films Twin Falls Idaho and Northfork.

Star Wars Ep 3 was shot on video too.

I believe every movie by Robert Rodriguez since Spy Kids 2.

Dancer in the Dark

Russian Ark

Sin City was shot on hi-def video.
