Films that ripped off Tarantino after Pulp Fiction

Desperado was more of a homage to the late '80s/early '90s Hong Kong action films of John Woo, such as A Better Tomorrow, The Killer, and Hard Boiled.

Well, you have a right to your opinion, but I still have to disagree. I love both movies and I’ve seen each of them countless times and I just don’t see the connection here.

I will suggest again that, if you only seen Snatch once, give it another chance. I promise not to poke fun if you come back and admit how great it is :D.

I seem to remember 2 Days in the Valley as being rather Tarantino-esque. It’s been a while since I’ve seen it though. That film had a pretty watchable catfight between Charlize Theron & Teri Hatcher…Come to think of it, it might be time to watch it again.

Don’t forget, Desperado was the Hollywood Sequel to El Mariachi. Tarantino is obviously a huge fan (and friend) of Rodriguez. He appears in Desperado in addition to starring in From Dusk to Dawn. As mentioned, Rodriguez filmed one of the sequences in Four Rooms. There’s clearly a mutual admiration thing going on between Tarantino and Rodriguez.
Cisco, if you liked Lucy Liu in Kill Bill you might enjoy her in Payback, which is, btw, a very violent film.

Ah, I totally forgot about that one. She plays a dominatrix, right? I saw that in the theatre.

“Did Braveheart quit? Did Payback quit?”

They’re such good friends that Rodriguez composed the musical score for Tarantino’s Kill Bill Vol. 2 for $1, and in exchange, Tarantino directed one sequence in Rodriguez’s Sin City (Dwight in the car, talking to dead Jackie-Boy), also for $1.

Tarantino told Rodriguez to make his idea into a trilogy, and release the films as far apart as he did, and I believe name them as he did even.

I think he influenced the trilogy.

The chances I’ll see anything else he does are pretty slim. I only saw Snatch because there was a party going on.
