If I buy a PAL DVD, can I make an NTSC copy of it using Final Cut Pro?
(Since this would be for personal use, there should be no copyright issue.)
I don’t see why not, if the program has that function. Alternately, you could watch it on your computer. Programs like PowerDVD that come OEM with DVD writers will play PAL video.
I’m still a beginner on FCP. Haven’t output anything yet, and I don’t currently have a PAL DVD. But I looked in Help and it looks like I can choose the output format, so I think I can load a PAL disc and convert it to NTSC.
Of course I haven’t learned how to upload a DVD yet. I’ve only captured from DV tape.
