I swear I’ve seen badly signed song after song after song… until now. There’s a version of Britney Spears’ song Womanizer with someone who actually knows how to sign well, and knows how to interpret a song.
His other videos are a lot of fun too. I love the fact he does an almost 10 minute video response to questions he’s received from Deaf people - in ASL. I’d hire this guy as an interpreter any time - good facial expression, body shifts, sign choices, and oh, he’s easy on the eyes too.
I think even people who don’t know Sign Language can appreciate the video… for whatever reasons… It seems to work on many levels…
Strangely enough, I showed the video to one of the interpreters I work with, who instantly said, “Oh, he’s such a great guy, we went to school together”. The Signing world just got a lot smaller.
I don’t know squat about ASL. That was very well done however. That is tons better than the typical sweater wearing, no expression having person in the corner looking bored as hell. Not for nothing, but that makes it seem more like a language to me. (Yes, I know it is a language in it’s own right.)
