Because I sure don’t. I think you are wimping out. But you could prove me wrong by saying yes, you do think he deserves it. Or no, he doesn’t.
Simply put, I don’t believe you don’t care about it.
Why don’t I believe it? Because people who truly don’t care about something can’t be bothered to seek out threads where they can hold long involved discussions about something that they don’t care about. That’s ridiculous.
PS - Like you, I can see where the folks at Nobel were coming from … but I doubt if it is the same place you see …

Others here have the courage of their convictions, and I respect them for it although I don’t share their beliefs. I’ll welcome your return when you drum up the nerve to actually have an opinion. You have made gentle mockery into an art form … but unfortunately, it is making a mockery of your life. Questioning your tone regarding your views on this years NPP is making fun of your beliefs? My knack for gentle mockery is nothing next to your knack for needless drama. The courage of my convictions? I’ve little problem standing up for something that matters. The president accepting an award given to him? Matters very little. If you feel it requires a great deal of courage to stand up against such things, more power to you I suppose. Your epitaph will beat mine for sure. “Stood up against the Nobel Peace Prize.”
In other words, once again you are going to try to distract us with mockery and fluff, but you are not going to tell us whether you think Obama deserves the Peace Prize or not.
Most people here have the courage of their convictions. Either you don’t have that courage, or you have no convictions and just come to mock people who do … I don’t know which one is worse.
Finally, I have not stood up against the Peace Prize, that’s your strange fantasy. I have stood up for the Peace Prize and more specifically, for what Alfred Nobel explicitly stated he wanted the Peace Prize to do — reward those who have done the most for peace.
Not to encourage hopefuls. Not to reward vision. Not to discourage an American President from following in the odious footsteps of his predecessor.
To acknowledge those who have done something significant to bring about a more peaceful world.
