I have a relative whose grandfather was a Swede. He died when she was only 3, and there’s no existing family history. It’s possible that she might have some second cousins ‘over there,’ but maybe not. We know the name of the town, and her grandfather’s year of birth, but that’s about it.
Any ideas? Hit a brick wall on Ancestry, which is what prompted this question.
A lot of church archives have been digitized in recent years, and a large part of it is searchable online up until 1946 which is the current limitation date for privacy protection, but the language may be a bit of a problem since they are mostly in somewhat archaic Swedish. Anyway, the archives are located here: https://sok.riksarkivet.se/kyrkoarkiv
