It is so awesome to have this to look forward to. Of course, I’m still looking forward to watching the whole series, since I’m only halfway through Disk 3, and still have three brand new unseen episodes to watch, but now I don’t have to feel quite so miserly.

No, it’s the full cast. Ron Glass and Alan Tudyk apparently don’t rate mention in the Universal press release, but other sources (such as dropzone’s link) confirm that the entire original cast is already signed on for the movie.

I wonder if Joss will slip in any cameos from Buffy and Angel…probably not…
Incidentally, what did Joss get an Oscar nomination for?
He co-wrote the screenplay for Toy Story. (Usual Suspects won that year.)

I just finished watching the DVD set of the TV series yesterday. That was absolutely excellent stuff! (I’m glad that when they named a TV series after me, they made it a good one. ;)) The end of The Message (one of the unaired episodes) was one of the most moving moments I’ve seen on a TV show.
So I’m looking forward to the movie coming out next year.
The IMDB page for Serenity lists all of the original cast except Ron Glass. But I’ll trust dropzone’s link which says all nine have been signed up.
Another latecoming fan here. I got turned on to this show about a month or two ago, and am now actively evangelizing it, forcing my DVDs on friends and family and forcing them to watch them at gunpoint. So far, it’s working brilliantly.
And about Ron Glass, there was another thread recently about him that confirmed that he’s in. Apparently he was under some contract that prevented the Firefly people from publicly confirming him, but that’s up now, and he’s in officially. Or something like that.
And, of COURSE, a movie setting is the perfect opportunity for Inara to get naked for us … right? RIGHT? I mean, it’s not like it would be out of character; SHE’S A COMPANION, after all. Bakers bake, plumbers plumb, Companions get naked – sounds reasonable to me!

But they don’t ever explicitly mention it: nobody in the movie even notices.
