I owe Joss Whedon my wife, so anytime he wants, the fellating’s his. I’m so his bitch.
So far, he’s hit it out of the park with everything he’s done, IMO. Buffy, Angel, Firefly, Fray, Astonishing X-Men…you name it, I’ll buy it if Joss is involved.

By the way, I watched one. I think it was the first one. Started REALLY slow and a crappy theme song, but it ended okay. I don’t see what inspires the mass fellating of Joss Whedon yet, though. I’ll watch some more.

Careful with that theme song. I thought it was hokey when I first heard it, but it gets to you.

The pilot episode is pretty slow-paced, especially the first half hour or so. I feel like it would have actually worked better condensed down to 45 minutes rather than as a double-length episode.

See, I agree with you. I think Fox absolutely made the right call in not showing that episode first. The Train Robbery episode is so much better.

Here’s something longer to sing along with: Mal’s Song, extended filk version of the theme.

That was a very nice rendition.
Regarding the series, I didn’t get hooked until renting the movie. I immediately bought the movie DVD, and bought the series (the only series I’ve ever bought).
I’ve been carefully rationing out the episodes of the series since then–going on 2 years now. I’ve only got about four left.
Okay, we started tonight and we’ve watched the first episode. I suppose it shouldn’t surprise me in the least as a Mary Ann guy and a Bailey guy that I’m now also a Kaylee guy. OMG, that girl is just ridiculously gorgeous.
