I don’t know much about that; never saw a Buffy episode. I just like good science fiction. Not happy with the movie for a number of reasons.
I owe Joss Whedon my wife, so anytime he wants, the fellating’s his. I’m so his bitch.
So far, he’s hit it out of the park with everything he’s done, IMO. Buffy, Angel, Firefly, Fray, Astonishing X-Men…you name it, I’ll buy it if Joss is involved.
“Fray”?
Careful with that theme song. I thought it was hokey when I first heard it, but it gets to you.
Anyone else sing along?
The pilot episode is pretty slow-paced, especially the first half hour or so. I feel like it would have actually worked better condensed down to 45 minutes rather than as a double-length episode.
I do love the theme song though.
back over to TFAW it is, then.
Jeez, no. I press the ‘mute’ button.
See, I agree with you. I think Fox absolutely made the right call in not showing that episode first. The Train Robbery episode is so much better.
I don’t agree with you on the theme song. God…
I wish my boyfriend had a mute button. He sings along.
It’s definitely a love it or hate it theme. My husband and I are in the “mute it!” crowd.
It’s surprising how much that song annoys me, considering how much I enjoy the songs from Once More with Feeling.
I do! My wife leaves the room 'tho.
Don’t mind if I do:
“Take my life, take my land
Take me where I cannot stand”
Here’s something longer to sing along with: Mal’s Song, extended filk version of the theme.

Wow. That’s pretty freakin’ cool.
That was a very nice rendition.
Regarding the series, I didn’t get hooked until renting the movie. I immediately bought the movie DVD, and bought the series (the only series I’ve ever bought).
I’ve been carefully rationing out the episodes of the series since then–going on 2 years now. I’ve only got about four left.
My fiancee laughs and startes singing “Take your powder, take your gun, report to General Washington” whenever the Firefly theme plays. I kind of see her point.
Wow. Shiny. Thanks!
Okay, we started tonight and we’ve watched the first episode. I suppose it shouldn’t surprise me in the least as a Mary Ann guy and a Bailey guy that I’m now also a Kaylee guy. OMG, that girl is just ridiculously gorgeous.
But, but, that song is also awesome. Especially Ween’s cover of it.
I guess she’s trying to take the piss, but comparing one to t’other just honors them both, in my mind.
