Fireplace Propane Insert

We want to add a propane insert to our current masonry fireplace. It currently uses propane but when we use it it just makes the room colder so we want an insert with fan. We like the heat n glo escape model. Unfortunately our salesman is new and does not know much. Currently the propane enters the firebox along the right rear wall (facing the fireplace) and the heat n glo has a left sided requirement. I assume a flexible tube can be run from the gas line to the left within the firebox… The salesman has no idea. He also says any electrician can run the electrical from a close by outlet into the firebox. Is it really that easy? I hate the idea of people drilling into masonry if they do not know what they are doing.
