Let’s see what the next 10 songs on my old 1st generation Nano are:
Song - Artist - Album
More- The Sisters of Mercy - Vision Thing
Personal Jesus (Acoustic) - Depeche Mode - Personal Jesus
Contergan (C-64) - Welle:Erdball - Die Wunderwelt Der Technik
Personal Jesus - Marilyn Manson
Wollt ihr das Bett in flammen sehen - Rammstein - Herzeleid
Severina - The Mission UK - Sum and Substance
Assimilate - Skinny Puppy
Dancing on the Berlin Wall - Rational Youth - Cold War Nightlife
The Box - Fad Gadget - The Best of Fad Gadget
Do ya think I’m Sexy? - Revolting Cocks - Linger Ficken’ Good
On the topic of randomness on the iPod I think there is a setting somewhere in iTunes where you can influence the randomness to make it more likely to play songs from the same artist or album. If you turn that setting to the max you will see more streaks of songs from the same artist.

In my experience this doesn’t affect the iPod, only iTunes. Wth it set to the max, iTunes latches onto one artist for 5 to 15 or so tracks. On my iPod, out of 40 shuffled tracks, the only matching ones were four of Wagner. And I do have well over a gigabyte of Wagner on there
New list (this is fun, and just a little embarrassing):
I Wanna Hold Your Hand: The Beatles
Trois Navires De Blé: Great Big Sea
Paperback Writer: The Beatles
I Want You to Need Me: Celine Dion (Okay, that’s embarrassing. In my defense, this was my mom’s album. She died in August, and I ripped a lot of her albums. No, honest.)
Who Loves You Better: Lyle Lovett
Doubleback Alley: The Rutles (well, if you’re going to have The Beatles . . .)
Babe: Styx (Another one of my mom’s albums, but I’ll admit to liking this one :))
Daytripper: The Beatles (Well, we’re very Beatle-ful today)
Bless the Beasts and Children: The Carpenters
It Happens Every Day: Dar Williams
To Be Loved (Forever): The Pentagons (Doo Wop, in case you couldn’t tell)
I wanna do this again, this time with my computer playlist.
Cloud Cult - Alone at a Party in a Ghost Town
Sufjan Stevens - The Man of Metropolis Steals Our Hearts
Pearl Jam - Rearviewmirror
Our Lady Peace - The Birdman
The Sounds - Tony the Beat
Canned Heat - Going Up the Country
Sufjan Stevens - Casimir Pulaski Day
The Sounds - 24 Hours
Genesis - Land of Confusion
Cocteau Twins - Fragile Eye
I have the Dope to thank for The Sounds, Sufjan Stevens and the Cocteau Twins!
I always take the opportunity to do this whenever it presents itself, but just skimming the results of other people so far on this board, I think my music taste is a bit different.
