There is a lot of hooplas bout the the first Israeli in space. What about Kalpana Chawla? I know she has had 300+ hours in space. And I found that there was an Indo-Russian manned mission back in 1984 but that’s all I could find.
Anyone know how many Indians have been into space? Kalpana had to have been among a very few numbers from India into space right?

One before her - Rakesh Sharma went to the Salyut station for 7 days aboard Soyuz T-11 in 1984.

And correct me if I’m wrong, (and I’m sure someone will) but Kalpana Chawla, tho born in India, was an American. That was my understanding. She did not represent her country of birth in the space program as her Israeli colleague did.
