First time gun owner. The Liberal Gun Club is tiny.

Add me to the list of CZ fans. I have an 85 Combat and a smaller P-01. I put a Crimson Trace laser on the P-01, and keep it in a handgun safe under my bed. I also have a CZ .22 rifle.

And add me to those who aren’t impressed with Glocks. I don’t like the triggers on the ones I’ve tried.

I recently bought a Beretta PX4 subcompact. I bought it because I love my full size Beretta 92F and the PX4 has the same setup in a much more compact size. I’ve shot about a hundred rounds through it and I’m very happy with it.

The most uber liberals in my friends set are gun owners - its hilarious to watch two Birkenstock wearing sometimes vegetarians head out to hunt grouse. Minnesota - its a lot like Portland.

See, I think there are plenty of liberal/leftist/whatever gun owners (in the USA). But they mostly keep quiet and defer to the right-wingers, in settings organized around guns rather than politics.

People in both sets will continue to make incorrect assumptions, as long as non-rightist gun owners keep refraining.

I have one of those. Sweet gun, though I did have to drift the rear sight a bit on mine to make it shoot to point of aim. Wish someone would produce a set of adjustable sights for it.

I’ve got three Springfield XD series. Two in 40 and one in 9mm. Good value and they shoot well for me.

I shouldn’t run down Glocks or Glock owners, the majority of which are just regular folks like anyone else; and in fairness to Glock, their engineers have built a tough, solidly reliable gun, and their service, sales, and marketing departments have done a superlative job of getting the word out to military and law enforcement.

Like Martini Enfield noted, Glocks have all the aesthetic appeal of a black brick. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, if the gun functions as designed under a wide variety of adverse conditions, which Glocks notably do.
Like most groups of any kind, it’s a very small minority that ruin it for everyone else. And again, in all fairness, Glock fanboys are no worse than the old 1911 .45ACP codgers grumbling about “plastic Euro-9 pea-shooters” or “tupperware guns.”

I’ve handled XDs in gun stores, and they “fit” me as well as my Walthers; I should probably try one out at a range just to see how well they shoot for me, so I can see if I need to add yet another brand to my stable.

Or us ancient dinosaurs who still insist “at least my revolver won’t jam”. Yeah — I’m one of “those”. :smack:

Plus, they have the personality that so many find that Glocks and such lack. Tell me that this gun is blah. Or this one. Or this one.

Oh, Oh, I had a S/W Model 66 full stainless from soon after they came out. I lost all my weapons in a robbery in 1986. I still get pissed when I think about. I never have had the $$$ to replace any of them except for a Remington Nylon 66 .22…

Most import was a S/W K .22 5 screw which I was told were kind of rare. Mine as a B day present when I was 14, my first pistol of my own. Grrrr… ( damn all pissed again just thinking about it. )

Another liberal gun owner checking in. My husband got interested in guns after a trip to Alaska a couple of years ago. I don’t find them particularly fascinating but I got my concealed carry license and carry my Ruger about half the time.

Even my 49 has a certain ---- look? Mine is set up like this:

But then again autos DO have the Luger which IMHO is the classiest and sexiest firearm ever made. I have both .30 and 9mm and both normal and arty and while I haven’t packed one as a serious sidearm in ages ------- they are just frikkin cool!

That gun is blah. :stuck_out_tongue: Having said that, I’m not a huge fan of the Colt Peacemaker design.

However, Ladies and Gentlemen, this is a proper revolver.
